Bill for Model Number Whirlpool 8560 Icemaker I took a 12 gauge wire and put it between T and H and the gears did not move at all. I am wondering if the ice maker is bad.
Answer Bill, An insulated 12 or 14 gauge "single" wire, jumper wire works the best. Make sure you remove enough insulation(3/4 inch) for the bare wire to reach the internal contacts inside the control module, and create a "closed" circuit so the motor starts to run. Also on most models, make sure you activate the freezer door switch(s), Tape it down, most models have an interlock switch that removes power to the ice maker and dispenser when the door is open.
