Skye for Model Number Kitchenaid model: KGST307HWH0 My oven doesn't heat. Broiler and stove top works just fine. I wanted to isolate if the problem is the igniter or the safety valve. Would you know if there are separate safety valves for the broiler and another for the oven? I want to be sure I measure the correct valve. Thanks.
Answer Hello Skye. Test for 3.0-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
