Mike for Model Number CCE3401 I am trying to replace a dual burner infinite switch [part #12002125] on a 20+ year old Jenn-Air Radiant Cooktop. Old Switch(terminal=wire color):2=Black, 3=Blue, 4=Purple, 5=Orange, N=Dual Red I have wired the new switch in 3 ways. In all 3 configurations I put the jumper between P1 and S1 First Way: causes burner to be constant on high P1=Black, 4=Blue, 4a=Purple, S2=Orange, P2=Dual Red Second Way: causes burner to be constant on high Split dual red: one from burner and one from LF L2 P1=Black, 4=Blue, 4a=Purple, S2=Orange, P2=Red from LF L2, 2=Red from burner Third Way: blows the circuit breaker No dual red wire split P1=Black, 4=Blue, 4a=Purple, S2=Orange, P2=Dual Red Please Help!
Answer Mike, your second way is correct. Check the contacts on the limiter switch that is on the element. You will need to allow it to get hot before you can get an accurate reading. When it gets hot, pull one of the wires off of the 2a or 1a connections and check for continuity. This switch should open up when it gets hot, this is how it regulates the temperature of the element.
