Ben for Model Number MDB8969SDM2 Hi, similar question as others. Cabinets to the left side of my dishwasher are destroyed. Pulled out dishwasher and watched it run a full cycle no leaks. Part W10195536 had steam coming out of the holes on both sides. Is there a fix for this? Why would the square holes be there on each side to allow steam/condensation to escape and rot out cabinets?
Answer Hello Ben, the water inlet for the tub that is mounted on the left hand side has to have openings to prevent reverse siphon as per Plumbing Codes. Some steam may come out of the openings during the tub wash fill also for air equalization during wash with non vented doors such as your model has. The sound dampening blanket that wraps around the tub is draped down over that inlet port to absorb the moisture and allow it to dissipate slowly after the cycle finishes. this is usually not a problem unless the blanket is out of position, missing or torn, also can occur if the cabinet cut out for the dishwasher is a tight fit. If the blanket is damaged or missing it is part W10877094. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, May 21, 2020
