Millie for Model Number AP4105669 I have removed the old knob and spring and there is a small spoke with a black round jacket around it. Do I need to remove the black jacket which is quiet strongly in place in order to put this new knob? Is it possible for me to send a picture, so it is easy for you to see what I am talking about? Answer Hello Millie, If the new knob has the sleeve in it, the sleeve will have to be removed from the stem to get the new knob on properly. If this is the case, you can get the sleeve off of the stem with a pair of diagonal cutters and something between the pliers and the control panel to prevent any scratches or other damage.
