Symptoms of a door latch issue include:

  • Door that will not safely stay shut on its own

This is a genuine Whirlpool OEM replacement this part is also compatible with Maytag, Jenn-Air and some Kenmore models.

Ann R. for Model Number GW395LEPB00

How do I unlock the oven door after the control board burned out half way through cleaning. Door is still locked preventing me from getting to the screws to replace the control board which I've purchased. Called Whirlpool and they told me they don't have any secondary way to open the door. That seems pretty foolish, that the engineers didn't plan a way to unlock the door manually. Please tell me they're wrong and there is a way to do this. I shouldn't have to pay to have a serviceman come out when I have the parts and know how to install them (done it before). Thanks

Components are cycled by pressing keypads to the right or left of the start/reset keypad. If you pull the tech sheet from behind the kick panel, it will explain how to use this method to troubleshoot the unit.
