Rick Phillips for Model Number kesa907pss02 I have a Kitchenaid KESA907PSS02 range and the door latch is not working. Fixya.com recommended I purchase part number 9760888, and your website cross-referenced this part to ap4429328. I ordered, & part # WPL W10195934 was shipped. Does this part get installed from the from of the range, and if so how? Do you have instructions, or even better a video that shows how?
Answer Rick, the door lach assembly is located and accessed from the front. Heres some information "1. Unplug range or disconnect power. 2. Pull the range forward so you can access the two end cap screws. 3. To remove the electronic oven control (EOC) assembly on slide-in models: a) Remove the two screws from the sides of the left and right end caps. b) Open the oven door and remove the four screws from the bottom of the control panel. c) Pull out on the bottom of the control panel, unclip the top edge from the bracket, and rotate the control panel forward so you can access the components.d) Disconnect the wire connectors from the electronic oven control board at P1 and P2, and the ribbon cable connector at P40.you should be able to set the control panel and control aside. To remove the door latch assembly: a) Open the oven door and remove the two front mounting screws from the air vent. b) Remove the two top screws from the door latch assembly bracket.c) Pull the door latch assembly forward as far as it will go, and disconnect the wires from the terminals of the two switches and the motor. d) Remove the door latch assembly from the unit."
