Using the wires at connection J6, there should be 35 Ohms of resistance from the wire at pin 2 to the wire at pin 3. With the lock in the unlocked position, there should be continuity from the wire at pin 1 to the wire at pin 4. If the lock is in the locked position, there should be continuity from the wire at pin 1 to the wire at pin 7. The final test would be testing from the wire at pin 1 to the wire at pin 5 and there should be continuity only when the lid is closed. If any of these tests failed, the latch has failed and would need to be replaced.
