John B. for Model Number WMH32517AW-0 The cooktop light bulb in my Whirlpool microwave burned out. When I removed it, only the glass part and two small wires came out. I cannot find in the compartment the metal part of the bulb. Please advise as to what to do. Has the top part of the bulb broken off? I have gone ahead and ordered bulb no. 8206232A, as this is the bulb listed for this model on your web site. Thank you
Answer Hello John, When you unplug the microwave, use a flashlight and needle nosed pliers to reach inside the light socket and grab the thin edge and turn. It should come out. If it bends in such a manner that causes it to be stuck to the pliers, use another pair of pliers to remove it since it is sharp and will cut you badly. If you cannot remove it in this manner, you may need to replace the light socket W10210871. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, July 31, 2014
