Mike for Model Number Kitchen Aide KBMC140HSS04 Lamp burnt out on our KitchenAide built in 30 inch MW/ Convection Oven. I have found part number (#AP5306958) but I have one question. I see comments that I must A) pull unit from wall then remove top cover to access lamp assembly OR B) remove front display panel to access lamp assembly. Can you please specify which is correct for this model. Thanks.
Answer Hello Mike, As per the service manual: CAUTION: When you work on the microwave oven, be careful when handling the sheet metal parts. Sharp edges may be present, and you can cut yourself if you are not careful. 1.Disconnect the electrical power to the microwave oven. 2.Remove the microwave oven from the oven cabinet. Unclip the wire retainer and remove it. Remove the lamp from the holder and remove the wires from the harness. Re-assemble in the reverse order using a paper towel to handle the bulb since oil from your skin will cause the premature failure of the bulb. Read More...
