Clyde for Model Number NAV5805AWW Will the lower transmission seal cause the noise I am hearing? If not, how do I check the transmission? The agitator is good, I had it apart. Sometimes there is no noise at all and the machine works fine but clothes sometimes are wet other times they are okay. Should I have a expert check it out or replace it. The washer is about 10 years old.
Answer Clyde, For a noise issue the lower seal will not cause this issue. You would want to check the drain pump to make sure that the bearings are not starting to fail on it. If this checks ok then it sounds like the thrust bearing would be the likely cause. Unfortunately there is no way to test the transmission on this unit. Read More...
