By: Whirlpool
Part Number: OEM21617775
Manufacturer Part Number: W11581317

The Whirlpool LP gas conversion kit is an OEM replacement part responsible for allowing the conversion of a natural gas-powered dryer to operate on LP (liquid propane) gas. This kit contains the orifice, leak limiter, and an instruction sheet to guide the conversion process. Once the conversion kit is installed, it alters the fuel source of the dryer, allowing it to burn LP gas instead of natural gas. This conversion is necessary when a home or installation site lacks access to natural gas and relies on LP gas as the fuel source for heating appliances

Causes for needing an LP gas conversion kit include relocating the appliance to a home with LP gas, or preferring LP gas over natural gas for cooking efficiency or availability. The conversion process involves changing the orifices and adjusting the gas pressure to suit LP gas requirements.

Symptoms that indicate a need for conversion or issues with the current setup include:

  • Improper or uneven flame on the burners
  • Difficulty in lighting the burners
  • Burners not operating at full power
  • Gas smell indicating possible leaks or incorrect gas type

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.
