Nathan N for Model Number W10176721

I have a Estate by Whirlpool washer model # W10176721 and the trouble I am having with it is it will agetate the wash fine in the wash cycle but it wont spin the wash out. It has a clutch on the bottom of the unit on the gearbox assemble. Sometimes it will spin and when it does it works fine so I don't think its a slipping clutch. I am wondering what I should replace. When it doesn't spin the unit does not even twitch like it is trying to start for some reason the clutch doesn't seem to be engaging.

Answer

Nathan, It would be recommended to check connections at the lid switch to make sure that the switch is working ok with no loose connections. If this checks ok then the issue will most likely be that there is not power to the motor at this time which would indicate an issue with the timer of the unit.
