  • Moves air over the evaporator to maintain even temperatures
  • Common failure signs: freezer getting warm, fridge section not cooling well, weak or no airflow from vents, intermittent humming or squealing, motor not running
  • May help resolve frost buildup around the evaporator due to poor airflow
  • Electrical component; match connectors and orientation during install
What's included: Evaporator fan motor only Install notes:
  • Unplug refrigerator before service; wear cut-resistant gloves
  • Access from the rear of the freezer/evaporator cover; remove shelves/panels as needed

Answer

Hello Karen, This issue is going to be caused by one of the control boards. You will need a dc volt meter to determine which board is at fault. You will need to go to the WP2318054 control board. Find connector P2 and test the dc voltage from terminal 8 to terminal 9, (both on connector P2). If the reading is 17Vdc, the problem is in the board you are testing on (the manufacturer refers to this as the Niagra board). If the voltage is not there, the problem is in the other board W10219462, (referred to by the manufacturer as the Gemini board).
