Karen for Model Number KSSS42QTXOO My refrigerator sounds like a motor is turning on and off every few seconds to every 30 seconds. When we open the doors it sound louder in the freezer than the refrigerator. The refrigerator keeps everything cold and the freezer is working too but the noise is a loud humming noise when the " motor " turns on and quiet when it is off. But this is constant! Can you help with any ideas.
Answer Hello Karen, This issue is going to be caused by one of the control boards. You will need a dc volt meter to determine which board is at fault. You will need to go to the WP2318054 control board. Find connector P2 and test the dc voltage from terminal 8 to terminal 9, (both on connector P2). If the reading is 17Vdc, the problem is in the board you are testing on (the manufacturer refers to this as the Niagra board). If the voltage is not there, the problem is in the other board W10219462, (referred to by the manufacturer as the Gemini board). Read More...
