Donna for Model Number Whirlpool I just replaced the Evaporator fan motor yesterday afternoon because of noise from my old one. It worked great (no noise) when I replaced it for about 10 hours then in the middle of the night, the noise started back up. I don't understand. It has new motor, new blade & new brackets. I feel like my time & effort was wasted to order the new part so I may as well return the part because it didn't fix the problem. What else can I do ?
Answer Donna, Check to make sure that there is not ice building up around the fan motor. If there is then you will want to look at a possible air leak issue or look at the fan motor coming on before the unit is out of defrost. If this is the case then the defrost control would need to be replaced. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, June 5, 2014
