Jim for Model Number DU1055XTVD0 I have a whirlpool dishwasher model DU1055XTVD0. It blew the fuse near the main board. I replaced the fuse, checked the heater element and the hi limit thermostat. The thermostat seemed to be sticking so I replaced it. Half way through the wash cycle it quit again. Is there a chance the washer motor has an issue and is drawing enough amps to blow the fuse? Thanks.
Answer Jim, amp draw could certainly be a problem if it is too high. You would want to test the windings on the motor itself to make sure that the windings are not causing excessive amp draw. To do this, you will want to disconnect power to your dishwasher, gain access to the motor and test the windings. With the capacitor disconnected, the auxiliary windings (using the wires that were disconnected from the capacitor) should read 6-10 ohms. The main run windings, which are the incoming wires from the control, should read 3-7 ohms. If the windings do not read within these ohms, then the motor is bad. Read More...
