Phillip G for Model Number Whirlpool Dishwasher GU1100XTLQ1 Has been making a humming noise while in operation not during filling or draining. Dishes not getting clean. Took apart bottom sprayer, filter and, chopper today and found a lot of hard deposits, debris. It appeared most of the drain holes were clogged. Scraped and vacuumed everything hoping that would cure the problem. Ran scour cycle with 2 cups of vinegar that I let sit in tub 20 min. prior to starting cycle. I can see both sprayers spinning when I open the door quickly. It is still making the humming noise though. Can I test the pump with a volt meter? If so what are the steps? Any other ideas? Thank you!
Answer Phillip, You can test the motor winding which should be 3.7 ohms of resistance on the run winding and on the auxillary should be 6.25. Also test the capacitor for 23.5 uF. It is most likely that there may still be deposits that could cause the noise issue. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, September 24, 2014
