Andrew for Model Number KUDI01ILBL3 My question is about a kitchenaid dishwasher that all of the sudden started making a high pitched squealing sound coming from the motor area. I took the insides of it apart to make sure there was nothing lodged in the chopper and stuff like that. Found nothing. Now the dishes don't even clean at all. They are just as dirty as when I put them in there before the cycle. To me it sounds like its defininitly the motor itself. I've heard that the seals go bad and let water into it. I just wanted to ask if you think I'm right. And do I just buy a motor and replace it? Or is there more parts to replace than just the motor?
Answer Hello Andrew. Based on the information you provided, it does sounds like the motor is bad and needs to be replaced. It is best to replace the sump assembly W10782773 and not just the motor in the units. If there is an issue with the water level, you may need to replace the water valve in the unit as well.
