Mike for Model Number GU2700XTSY1 Dishwasher wasn't cleaning so I disassembled and found very clogged chopper screen. I cleaned chopper screen and reassembled. Dishwasher worked perfectly one time, then chopper screen clogged again. When dishwasher worked well for one time it appeared to fill/clean/drain correctly. I have a few questions: 1) Does the PTO from the circulation motor that drives the chopper mechanism turn independently from the circulation impellers on the circulation motor? If so then maybe the problem is the circulation pump. 2) Should the actual chopper blade turn freely and independently from the circulation pump? I've correctly installed the chopper and the drive teeth are properly meshed with circulation motor PTO, but if I hold the chopper blade it will stay stationary while I spin the circulation motor impellers. Maybe my chopper mechanism is broken? Any advice is much appreciated.
Answer Hello Mike. If the chopper is bad, you should be able to see it is broke or bad. The impeller turns the chopper on this model. So if water is flowing, chopper is turning. It sounds like the chopper is broken on the unit, or the impeller teeth are stripped out. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, August 16, 2012
