Kathy H for Model Number 66516534201 My dishwasher fills with water and stays in the sensing mode for a long time. it doesn't finish sensing but will eventually start to make a light humming sound but nothing is happening. when I cancel it dose drain the water. I thought that it could be the fuse in the electronics but that didn't work.
Answer Kathy, There are several things to check first. Is the dishwasher filling properly. If you start the dishwasher, let it operte for 5 minutes, then open the door, the water level in the bottom of the tub should be within 1/4 inch (minimum) of the heater element, low water level will cause a sensing delay. Check and make sure the water temperature in the bottom of the tub is at least 120 dgrs.F.at the end of the fill cycle, when the motor starts to run, low water temperature will also cause an extended sensing cycle. And make sure there are no hard water deposits developing in the tub or on the heater element, and the detergent or rinse agent you use is not "foaming" / sudsing during the wash cycle. Read More...
