Ed for Model Number ED5LHAXWQ00 We have just returned to our condo after 5 months. I thought I turned off the ice maker before we left. When we returned the ice bin was full and frozen solid. I turned off the refrigerator to let it thaw and later emptyed most of the ice. I ran the cube dispenser to get the remaining ice out. I turned the ice maker back on and heard it make ice. However now when I push the lever for ice nothing happens, no sound no click nothing. Did I burn out the dispenser motor? Could it be something else? If it is the motor, can I replace it or should I call a repairman? Ed
Answer Hello Ed. Check and see if the motor is frozen in the unit. Test for power to the motor. If there is power there, and the motor does not turn, replace the motor in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
