Hello Jeff, and thank you for your question. Usually, the wire connection that would plug into an in-door auger motor would only be available as a part of the door assembly.

Hello Dan, thanks for reaching out to AppliancePartsPros.com This would be either a bad switch in the front cover/switch assembly WPW10151526 or a faulty auger motor W10822635. The front cover/switch assembly has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is no longer available for purchase.

Brandon, Yes, you should be able to plug the refrigerator in without an auger motor as long as the fan is not in the same plug adapter as the motor.

Brian, the auger motor would be accessed from just below where it would be located. There will be panel that can be viewed when looking up from the door bin. Removing the bottom panel will allow access to the mounting screws and auger motor.

Brian for Model Number KSSO48QMB03

I need to order auger motor AP5985150. On my model, the only screws associated with the Safety Barrier ( the cover over the motor) are the 2 screws holding the seals and the auger shaft in place. I'm guessing the cover snaps on but all the other Kitchenaid models similar to this have 4 screws holding the safety barrier in place. I'm afraid to start prying on the safety barrier as that cover piece is no longer available. I've searched (and searched) the web but cannot find any info on removal of barrier covers without screws.

Brian, the auger motor would be accessed from below. Just above the door bin below the ice bin section, there will be an access panel just above the door bin that would need to be removed. This will allow access to the mounting screws and bracket holding the auger motor in place.

Sandra, the auger motor would be accessed using an access panel on the inner liner of the door located just above the door bin.

Louie for Model Number KSSO42QTX00

It seems like we have a common problem with the connector to this motor having wires that corrode. Unfortunately, it seems that the neither the 6-pin connector nor the wiring harness is a purchasable appliance part. The pin-out for my Whirlpool 2315546 motor in my KitchenAid KSSO42QTX00 side-by-side refrigerator is: 1-black-white, 2-red-white, 3-open, 4-gray, 5-open, 6-black. Since only my black wire was corroded, I'm going to try to find a comparable pin to crimp the wire and push it back into the white plastic connector. Hope this helps someone. Stay tuned for progress. Hello Louie, the manufacturer does not supply any type of wire/terminal repair kit for the wire harness in the freezer door for the auger motor, the only repair is a new freezer door and unfortunately, the doors are no longer available.

William, You could try to pull the pins from the harness and clean them up with contact spray as long as the wires are not burnt this may work otherwise there would be no fix.
