Jeff December 17, 2025 Good afternoon, I need the harness (or really just the plug as I can solder) that plugs into part number W10822635 Thanks, Jeff
1 Answer Hello Jeff, and thank you for your question. Usually, the wire connection that would plug into an in-door auger motor would only be available as a part of the door assembly. Read More...
Dan September 03, 2025 for Model Number 106.58902802 I replaced the auger motor (part #10822635) and the ice crusher assembly (part # AP6007265). Now it only dispenses crushed ice. I understand that to produce cubed ice in this model, the motor has to reverse but it only goes clockwise whether the crushed or cube ice button is selected. It sounds like a defective motor. Please advise if something else could be the problem.
1 Answer Hello Dan, thanks for reaching out to AppliancePartsPros.com This would be either a bad switch in the front cover/switch assembly WPW10151526 or a faulty auger motor W10822635. The front cover/switch assembly has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is no longer available for purchase. Read More...
Len May 08, 2023 for Model Number W10822635 Do you have the cable that plugs into this motor, W10822635?
1 Answer Lee, if the model number of your appliance could be provided in a new question, this will allow the most accurate information to be presented. Read More...
1 Answer Brandon, Yes, you should be able to plug the refrigerator in without an auger motor as long as the fan is not in the same plug adapter as the motor. Read More...
Brian May 08, 2022 for Model Number KitchenAid Refrigerator KSSO48QMB03 Just asked the same question using wrong email! Need to order AP5985150, the issue is the barrier cover only had screws to hold the auger in place. The barrier cover does not have screws holding it down. Guessing it snaps i place but the safety barrier is an obsolete part and I don't want to break it. How do you remover the safety barrier to access the auger motor after you remover the 2 screws holding the auger shaft seal
1 Answer Brian, the auger motor would be accessed from just below where it would be located. There will be panel that can be viewed when looking up from the door bin. Removing the bottom panel will allow access to the mounting screws and auger motor. Read More...
Brian May 08, 2022 for Model Number KSSO48QMB03 I need to order auger motor AP5985150. On my model, the only screws associated with the Safety Barrier ( the cover over the motor) are the 2 screws holding the seals and the auger shaft in place. I'm guessing the cover snaps on but all the other Kitchenaid models similar to this have 4 screws holding the safety barrier in place. I'm afraid to start prying on the safety barrier as that cover piece is no longer available. I've searched (and searched) the web but cannot find any info on removal of barrier covers without screws.
1 Answer Brian, the auger motor would be accessed from below. Just above the door bin below the ice bin section, there will be an access panel just above the door bin that would need to be removed. This will allow access to the mounting screws and bracket holding the auger motor in place. Read More...
Sandra January 27, 2022 for Model Number MSF25C2EXW00 The augur motor was delivered today. How to install it? Do you have a work sheet or something to follow. Thank you.
1 Answer Sandra, the auger motor would be accessed using an access panel on the inner liner of the door located just above the door bin. Read More...
Louie February 01, 2020 for Model Number KSSO42QTX00 It seems like we have a common problem with the connector to this motor having wires that corrode. Unfortunately, it seems that the neither the 6-pin connector nor the wiring harness is a purchasable appliance part. The pin-out for my Whirlpool 2315546 motor in my KitchenAid KSSO42QTX00 side-by-side refrigerator is: 1-black-white, 2-red-white, 3-open, 4-gray, 5-open, 6-black. Since only my black wire was corroded, I'm going to try to find a comparable pin to crimp the wire and push it back into the white plastic connector. Hope this helps someone. Stay tuned for progress. 1 Answer Hello Louie, the manufacturer does not supply any type of wire/terminal repair kit for the wire harness in the freezer door for the auger motor, the only repair is a new freezer door and unfortunately, the doors are no longer available. Read More...

William Steffey June 15, 2018 I have a 48” built in KSSC48QTS02 model, serial QW1717089 Kitchenaid refridge that water leaked down the auger shaft and corroded the wire harness leading into the motor. I am told that the only fix is to replace the door, but the door is discontinued AND the wire harness end is a part not available. I see this complaint often- has anyone figured out a work around? hard to trash a $9000 unit because of a $.50 part
1 Answer William, You could try to pull the pins from the harness and clean them up with contact spray as long as the wires are not burnt this may work otherwise there would be no fix. Read More...
