Brian for Model Number KSSO48QMB03

I need to order auger motor AP5985150. On my model, the only screws associated with the Safety Barrier ( the cover over the motor) are the 2 screws holding the seals and the auger shaft in place. I'm guessing the cover snaps on but all the other Kitchenaid models similar to this have 4 screws holding the safety barrier in place. I'm afraid to start prying on the safety barrier as that cover piece is no longer available. I've searched (and searched) the web but cannot find any info on removal of barrier covers without screws.

Answer

Brian, the auger motor would be accessed from below. Just above the door bin below the ice bin section, there will be an access panel just above the door bin that would need to be removed. This will allow access to the mounting screws and bracket holding the auger motor in place.
