Mark for Model Number GS5SVAXVA00 whirpool side by side refrigerator After a power outage my ice dispenser stop working, I have located the motor and this is what I know. When diconneting the wire terminal from the motor and using my digital meter I read 35.4 Vac and when reading resistance across the motor terminals It reads 65 Ohms. Do I need to purchase the dispenser motor and the power board? Is there any internal fuse ? loose connection?
Answer Mark, The auger motor operates on 115 DC volts. There should be 115 VAC across pin 3(blue) and pin 5(white) When you press the ice lever you should read 115 VDC across pin 6(pink/black) and pin 7(orange/blue). on the crushed ice selection pin 1(brown and white) across to pin 2(red/white) should have 115 VDC and cubed selection will have the same VDC on the same pins, when pressed. Don't forget to tape the freezer door switch down to conduct the voltage checks, and be very careful. The resistance of the motor circuit is in range, and the voltage test will confirm the operation of the switch assembly. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, September 25, 2012
