By: Whirlpool
Part Number: OEM18037899
Manufacturer Part Number: WP8301848

This latch sister board controls the oven's motorized door lock used for self-clean and safety interlock functions. Replacing a failed board restores reliable lock/unlock operation so your oven can start cycles and complete cleaning as designed.

  • Powers the door-latch motor when commanded by the main control
  • Engages or releases the door lock during self-clean cycles
  • What's included: One latch sister board.

Install notes:

  • Disconnect power at the breaker before servicing
  • Use ESD protection and handle the board by the edges
  • Access is typically behind the control/upper panel; photograph wiring and transfer connectors one at a time
  • After reassembly, verify latch operation before running a full self-clean

Dnrto for Model Number GBD307PRY01

The display has progressively grown faint, occasionally but rarely coming back on before fading again, and now does not work at all. Now, just recently, the oven does not turn on at all. The touch pad is responsive (the oven lights work) and I get a standard "beep" when any button is touched. However, when I hit the start button I get five beeps with no further action. The second beep is longer than the others, like __ _______ __ __ __. Please advise what course of action is recommended and what parts I should order. I've been looking at AP6021413 (Electronic Control Board) and AP6012630 (also Electronic Control Board) but don't understand the difference between the two. Thanks very much for your help.

Answer

DNRTO, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty transformer and would be part number WP9760587 and can be tested by checking for 120 vac at the p16 connector between pins 5 and 7 for 120 vac and if there is power there then test from the p16 pins 2 to 3 for 12 to 24 vac. If there is no power at this point then transformer is bad. If there is power at this point then the control board is faulty. If there is no power at pins 5 to 7 then the control board is faulty.
