Ken for Model Number ETW4300TQ0 Washing machine makes a popping noise when it reaches spin cycle, sounds like something stripped in gear case. I tore the gear case down and could not find nothing obvious, however some of the plastic pieces underneath the pinion in the neutral drain assembly showed some wear with plastic shavings in the oil. I can turn the pinion by hand and everything seems to work fine, but did appear to slip once making popping noise. will a neutral drain kit fix my problem or do i need a clutch assy???? P.S. I previously typed in wrong e-mail address.
Answer Hello Ken. If the pinion is slipping, then it will make a popping sound. If so, you can replace the drain kit 388253A should repair the issues. Hope this helps. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, October 18, 2011
