Jesse for Model Number Frigidaire Ice Machine I have just replaced the Whirlpool W10217917 Valve on my Frigidaire and now the ice plate is not getting cold enough to make ice. Water is running through system. Would the new valve be causing this to happen? Thank you
Answer Jesse, If the reservoir is full and the water is being circulated up to and over the chill plate, then no the water valve is not the problem. You will need to check the evaporator thermistor, and the reversing valve on the back of the ice machine. If the reversing valve is stuck open, the evaporator wont cool and make a slab of ice. If the thermistor has been dislodged or is out of calibration, the control can't tell if the evaporator is cooling and will not produce an ice slab.
