Ivan for Model Number Kenmore Electric Dryer model 110-96573220 I have determined with a multi-meter test my push to start switch is bad. My part number for that switch is 3395382 it is a 3 terminal switch. I see that WP3395382 is the replacement part and it has 2 terminals, I know the black wire goes to one terminal. Does it matter which of the 2 white and red leads I connect to the 2nd terminal?
Answer Hello Ivan, The push-to-start switches that have three terminals are actually relays and I do not believe they can be replaced with a two terminal switch. Since this is a Kenmore and we cannot access their closed computer system to pull wiring diagrams and technical information, I would assume from the information I can gather that the replacement part listed by Sears is incorrect. I would assume that the correct part would be more like WP3398094. This is a three-connection relay switch that would operate properly if it will mount to the control board. The only other suggestion would be to contact the manufacturer and see if they can research the part to ensure it is not a bad cross. Read More...
