John K for Model Number WRT351SFYB00 drip pan AP6034264 I would like to expand on this description to be more detailed on how to replace the drip pan, Before Kim for Model Number WRT351SFYB00 Answer Kim, To remove the drip pan from this unit you will have to pull the unit out. Remove the rear cover at the bottom and remove the condenser fan. You will then need to tilt the unit back and the pan will be bolted to the bottom of the unit. Remove the bolts and then remove the bolt for the rear base of the unit. This will allow you to slide the drain pan out and slide the new one in. Once in bolt the new one to the bottom of the unit and reinstall all other parts Now: Kim for Model Number WRT351SFYB00 Answer Kim, To remove the drip pan from this unit you will have to do the following: 1. You are going to have to have two types of screw removers. One it the hex nut screw that the card board panel on the back is screwed down with. This is also the same type of screw/size that the drip pan is using. The second is the recessed hex nut that you see when you buy furniture and assemble yourself. You need to verify you have the right size before you begin removing parts later. 2. Make sure that stuff in the refrigerator is not going to break or go crashing inside the refrigerator. 3. Unplug the refrigerator and pull the refrigerator forward. Tip back and prop the edge against the wall so the front is at least of foot high. Put towels on the back of the refrigerator so you don’t mark the wall. I used 2 by 4 wood pieces to wedge the back base to the wall. I then use a tool case and used wood and cooking pots to brace the tool case so it didn’t pop out in the front. No you will see a 1 foot metal plate in the back of the refrigerator with 4 flat sunken hex nut screws. The plate has a ridge that makes it impassible to remove the drip pan without unscrewing it. Verify you have the wrench to remove it before you do anything more. 4. Now that you have the tools, put the refrigerator back down and removed the card board panel in the back. 5. Unscrew the ground wire. 6. Now the hard part, you have to remove the fan. It is attached to the refrigerator with 3 pressure clips. 2 are metal and one is plastic. I bent one side of each metal clip first. Then I push the top of the fan case forward so it was out of the plastic clip. It won’t brake (hopefully). Now pull the side closest to the edge out of the clip. Now the hard part, getting the fan case out of the clip that is deepest part of the refrigerator. It was no fun, but I finally got it out and removed the fan case. 7. Lift up and the front of the refrigerator like before. Remove the drip pan's 4 screws with your hex nut screw driver. Now remove the first set of sunken hex nuts on the left and right of the refrigerator. Now remove the last nut on the pan side. Your pan is now free of the metal ridge and can be pulled out. 8. Replace the drip pan. 9. Getting the pan screws back in is hard. You need to find the hole by feel. I use tape to secure the screw to the driver because I had problems getting my figures into the hole to steady the screw. It takes a while. Then screw back the sunken hex nuts. 10. Put the refrigerator back down. Now the hard part again, getting fan back in. I never got it back in correctly because the fan plastic bar would not go into deepest metal clip right. But it was good enough; I bent back the metal clips back and then push the top of the fan back into the plastic clip. 11. Reattach the ground and the card board panel and you’re done. If you know a better way of getting the fan out, please update.
Answer John, May not be able to get the fan out without dropping the based of the unit first. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, October 17, 2016
