Handym for Model Number WRT311SFYW00 I just received the replacement drip pan for my WRT311SFYW00 refrigerator, purchased from you after watching one of your you tube videos for what I thought was a similar model refrigerator. Only when I opened the back of the refrigerator, I found my drip pan bolted in, then noticed the screw/bolt holes on the replacement pan. Can you help me with these questions: (1) Is the pan is held in with bolts that can be more easily loosened with a wrench or is it held in with screws? (2) To get at the bolts or screws underneath the pan, would it be best to tilt the refrigerator forward (door towards the floor) or backward (back towards the floor)? The local appliance service shop wants $300 to do the replacement of a $30 part and I'd like to do it myself, but would appreciate as many details as possible to help me before starting. Thanks!
Answer Hello Handym, this type of drain pan is more involved than most. You would start by having a 2nd person for assistance, unplug the refrigerator, remove food items, tape or secure doors closed, tip cabinet to install a 2 or 4" wood block or similar under the side and reach in and unscrew the drain pan screws, if you need to you will have to remove the condenser fan and possible the metal base on one side.
