John for Model Number Maytag MDB7749AWW2 Thanks for the great service! I have been having some trouble with this washer for some time being that it has been running really long (slow) cycles and the lights that tell you what it is doing were usually wrong. (At startup it would show it in dry cycle, but still finished a normal cycle.) Lately I cannot disable "Steam Clean" and it would do a cycle sometimes lasting 5 hours. Then in a final breath, I can select a cycle (still not being able to disable Steam) and it will not start. I ordered a controller from you and installed this afternoon only to find I still have all the same symptoms and still will not start. I don't want to throw a lot of money into this machine and just want to know where to go next. I am an experienced troubleshooter and everything points to the controller. Even if it is the latch switch or thermal fuse it doesn't explain the incorrect lights. Thanks. The controller came in under 24 hours and I ordered at 4 PM. Wow!

To invoke the Diagnostics Cycle, perform the following key presses or actions in less than 6 seconds while in standby: Heated Dry ? Normal ? Heated Dry ? Normal If the unit will not go into the diagnostic mode, the4 control is considered by the manufacturer to be defective. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, December 16, 2014
