Carol for Model Number MDB7609AWW1/White Dishwasher is 'locked' (heated dry is permanently on). Pressing/holding the heated dry button does nothing. I can select a cycle, but heated dry button remains on no matter which cycle is chosen. Start or cancel does not work. Have disconnected from power for 15 mins and reconnected power, no change. Do I need the control panel or the electronic control unit to fix this? Thanks for your help.
Answer Hello Carol. Use the tech sheet with the unit and test the control panel heated dry button on the panel W10811156. If it closes when you press it and opens when you release it, then the control panel is good, and the control board is bad. If the button does not work properly, you will need to replace the panel. You will test P1-11 and P1-6 on the ribbon cable of the control panel. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
