Jared for Model Number WED4800XQ My Whirlpool dryer is barely over one year old and last week it stopped working. I found that when I push the start button it runs as normal unless I stop pressing the button, then it shuts off. For now we have just been leaning a weight on the start button so we can dry clothes until we can fix it. When we do this, everything works as normal. Heat works, drum spins, dryer cycle timer moves. After some research it sounds like the push-to-start switch is faulty. I plan on getting a multi-meter to test this before I purchase any parts, but would this be the most logical place to start for these symptoms? Thank you for your help.
Answer Hello Jared. Test the switch and see if it is good. If so, then the issue is the motor on the unit, and you will need to replace the motor. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, November 1, 2012
