Over time, the pump and motor assembly can fail due to wear and tear, debris buildup, or electrical issues. Regular use, along with exposure to hard water, can cause the components to degrade, leading to performance problems.

Symptoms of a bad pump and motor assembly include:

  • Dishes not being cleaned properly
  • Unusual noises during the wash cycle
  • Water not draining from the dishwasher
  • Error codes indicating pump or motor issues

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Rhody for Model Number KUDS01DJSS1

Repair requires removal of dishwasher cabinet from under kitchen-counter to replace its circulation pump-motor assembly. Blind installation showing copper tubing water supply and probably direct wiring of a/c power. Is it typical for such installations to provide loop of tubing and wiring to allow sliding out of washer cabinet while it's still attached to the tubing and direct wire? Can this be examined from below washer at lower front panel to determine status of installation "slack" that may have been provided?

Answer

Rhody, the slack can be viewed from underneath the dishwasher. It is recommended that when moving the dishwasher around that the power supply and water supply be turned off prior to moving it around. It is common for there to be just enough slack to be able to move the dishwasher out but you will still want to be very careful and move it out slowly.
