Ron for Model Number Maytag PAV3240AWW When on the wash cycle, the agitator spins and the tub spins with it, getting faster and faster and splashing water over the side of the tub. In my research, I'm thinking that I need to replace the brake. Only problem is that it requires a special tool that is no longer available. I've read that some people have replaced the screws with longer ones one at a time, then backing each screw out a little at a time until the 200 lbs of pressure is released. Does this sound reasonable, and how long of screws should I replace the others with? Are there any other options? Is this actually what needs replaced? This is the first issue I've had in the 14 years of owning this washing machine!
Answer Hello Ron. Yes, use the long screw technique. It works the best. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, July 29, 2013
