Don for Model Number PAVT910AWW Washer will not spin at all. When checking underneath the motor and pump rotate manually but drum pulley will not go more than a quarter turn clockwise. When on, motor hums for several seconds and then seems to trip on thermal overload. After hearing it reset, tries to spin but just hums again. Is this the transmission or something simpler?
Answer Don, Check to make sure that the thrust bearing is turning in one direction completely and if it is then turn the other direction and it should lift the brake to turn the drum. If it does and the drum does not turn then this would be a bad tub bearing. If it does not then the thrust bearing would be the issue. Read More...
