Bert B. for Model Number KUIS15NRTSO 1. What does this sensor, p/n: AP3970730, sense, (ie., presence of water in the pan, temperature of the water in the pan, both, other, etc.)? 2. There are 3 wires exiting the sensor, (Red, Black/white stripe, White/red stripe), what are the labels/function for each of these, and is there a polarity and AC or DC voltage for each? 3. Is there a means to test the sensor, ie., ohm it out? 3A. I noticed the conductors in the black/yellow striped wire, running from the black/white striped wire of the sensor, were very very dark, like it had carried some current, but the insulation of the black/yellow wire does not seem to be harmed. Would this point to a bad sensor, like it shorted out? 4. When does the "recirculation" pump come on and start pumping water to the ice making plate/evaportor, immediately upon start of the ice maker, after the water cools to a given temp., after the evaporator plate reaches a given temp.? etc.? 5. After the unit is on for a while, I see frost starting to form on the ice making plate/evaporator, but I never see water running over this plate. Could it be due to the sensor being bad, or another problem preventing the recirculation pump from coming on, or functioning? 6. This unit is approx. 5 years old. I noticed the pins in the "quick-disconnect" connectors, for the pumps and sensor connectors inside the cooling area, are very very corroded. Is this normal within this time frame? I've had to insure the connectors/pins were not the problem. 7. Is there a wiring diagram available for this unit, ie., showing wires running to and from each component, and the color for each of the wires in the harnesses? "THANKS" for your time and your help. Answer HI Bert. This sensor is a water fill sensor. Check in the diagnostic mode only. Part # WPW10548509. There is a supplied service tech sheet in the cabinet in a packet.
