Gerald for Model Number GD25BFCHB01 Water dispenser began working only part time and acted this way for a good long time. Then the ice dispenser began dispensing crushed ice only. Think there may be a connection? I was planning to replace the solenoid. What else would you suggest?

Answer Hello Gerald, You should first check the bracket WP2180226 in the dispense area and then make sure the crushed/cubed solenoid is not frozen up. Heat the area with a hair dryer for 10 to 15 minutes and retry to see if this is the issue. Also, if there are a lot of ice particles in the bottom of the bin, the manufacturer say to clear these out since it will cause the cube diverter to freeze in position and cause the issue.
