Chantel for Model Number ED5FHEXSQ02 My Solenoid is not moving up and down to switch from cubed to crushed ice. Can I take this out and test it somehow with like a voltmeter to make sure that is the broken part and not the switch in the door or wiring of some sort? Hate to purchase $75 part just to find out the problem is farther down the line. (I have a volt meter, but dont really know how to test this part using it. Any insight on that would be appreciated) Thanks!
Answer Hello Chantel, the manufacturer has not supplied the ohm value of the cube/crush solenoid, it does operate on 120v when activated, the plunger should slide smoothly into the solenoid, if the wire harnesses tat the top/bottom of the freezer door are not damaged, likely the cube/crush microswitch needs to be replaced.
