Victor for Model Number whirpool rfridge my unit is working but is not making ice cubes I checked the water flow and have it up to the solenoid and from there it's not going into the fridge, what could be the problem, i opened the solenoid to check if it was clogged and blew into the part and it had nothing in it, can some one help me wtih this
Answer Victor, The solenoid on the valve has probably got a failed circuit. If the coil does not activate and lift the plunger, the water will not enter the valve, no matter how clean it is. Replace the water valve WP2188542 then check and make sure you have 120 VAC on the wires that attach to the "Green" solenoid, when the ice maker reaches the fill portion of the cycle (rake arm in the 1 to 2 o'clock position).
