Aaron P. for Model Number Magic Chef W225LV Symptom-in spin cycle there is a flopping sound, like the belt is flopping. The belt has very little slack. The motor seems to move excessively to me, but I don't know how much it is supposed to move. The flopping sound is annoying. I checked the motor spring. It is in place but I don't know if it could be the problem. Separate issue One more thing.- it has a moderate squeak when the brake engages.
Answer Aaron, The motor should move freely on the plate assembly 21001783 especially the side to side motion. The motor tension spring could be the issue it may have lost it's tension over the years, but that's just a guess or suggestion, really. The belt WP21352320 may have stretched a bit, and of course you'll want to check the pulleys on the pump, transmission, and motor for possible side to side movement, or excess play or bent pulleys, or debris in the sheave of the pulleys. " it has a moderate squeak when the brake engages" this is caused by the brake pads mounted on the brake rotor WP35-6714 engaging on the brake stator WP35-6918. This is a "dry" brake assembly, and there is no lubrication to be done. You can remove the pulleys, etc., carefully remove the stator and rotor and clean both surfaces with fine emery cloth or replace both parts would be a better solution. You can operate the washer until the noise becomes unbearable if you wish. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, January 16, 2014
