Eh for Model Number Whirlpool Thin Twin I noticed that each of the shocks have a Screw in the black part of it. Is it supposed to stay there or should it be removed? What's the function of the screw? The instructions show you remove them and then at the end, it says to install the tub in the reverse order. This is fine BUT, when you set the tub back on the new shock absorbers, it moves around and can potentially damage the new shock absorbers. Is there a way to keep it steady while the tub sits on the new shock absorbers so that you can screw on the bolts? There has to be a better way unless there has to be two people to install it where one just holds the tub so it does not damage the new shock absorbers. Thanks
Answer Hello Eh, I have replaced may of these and have never damaged any of the new shocks. If you feel it is necessary to prevent you from causing damage, you can get an assistant to help perform the repair. Otherwise, just move the tub gently when aligning it for connection to the tub assembly. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, June 10, 2014
