Victor A. M. for Model Number mav9657ewq The washer fills, agitates and drains. But it will not spin, regardless of what cycle you turn the timer to. So at the end of the cycle the tub is empty but the clothes are still really wet since the tub never spun. When it should be spinning the agitator is actually turning. I'm not sure if it is supposed to be. With the top panel lifted, I turn the timer to spin and turn on the machine. The agitator turns. If I use my hands and try to resist the agitator, the tub attempts to start spinning. If i use my hand and assist the tub to start spinning, it will spin for a few seconds fairly quickly, but then stop. The belt is obviously good. If I take the belt off and turn the agitator pulley on the bottom, it spins freely and the agitator turns but the tub does not. The electric motor slides properly in its mount. I took the metal tub completely out. There is nothing between the metal tub and the plastic tub.....like a sock or something. Any ideas?? Thanks, Victor
Answer Victor, You have a worn out thrust bearing assembly 12002213. The tolerance are too far worn out to properly engage the clutch washers and release the brake to allow the tub to spin. Based on your post, everything else is within specifications. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, September 30, 2014
