Washer fills, agitates, and drains. But clothes are still soak and wet. I ordered the bearing kit and replace it entirely. It did not solve the issue. While setting dial to spin, I open lid and put resistant to the agitator, then the tub starts to spin very well. but when I let go the lid trigger it stops and it needs resistant apply on the agitator again for spinning. Question, is this a symptom of the bearing kit installation and adjustments was not made correctly? or is this an issue with main transmission mechanics which causes tub to spin? or I need to replace the drive motor? The technician recommended replacing a drive motor, but I am not convinced the issue is the drive motor.

Answer

T, No you do not need a drive motor, You may want to check and make sure the motor moves freely on the slide plate, and the drive belt isn't worn excessively, but not a motor. Based on your post description the problem is most likely an improper adjustment on the thrust bearing and cam kit, it can be tricky and frustrating, sometimes you have to use the washers from the original thrust bearing and or a combination of old and new. The easiest way to gauge it, once you have everything adjusted, lubricated and ready to install the "E" clip on the shaft, you'll need to use a small flat blade screw driver, and "pry down on the transmission shaft a little to insert the clip into the groove on the shaft, then seat the clip properly using a pair of needle nose pliers, If that doesn't solve the problem, then the transmission clutch spring is the problem, and you'd need a new transmission.
