Ralph S. for Model Number Kenmore trash compactor model 666-13604000 I have an older model and the replacement part for the pac/extrapac switch part number 987157 that is on my compactor has a light and there are 4 plug in places. The replacement for this part number has only 3 places to plug in wires. The 4th connection plug place is on the opposite side of where the three plug in places are and the yellow wire has a split so that one of the yellow wires plugs into the side where the other wires plug into the switch. The other yellow wire plugs into the opposite side of the plug ins opposite where the yellow wire plugs in, (they plug into the back on opposite sides of the same end. There is a light on the original switch and the manual says it will not run if the light goes out (which is what happened). The current part that has the same number only has three places for the wires to plug into the switch. Is there a new schematic for wiring that modifies it to work without the light and extra wire to plug into? I have tried everywhere and cannot find the original switch with 4 plug ins and a light and was told by one vendor to see if anyone knows how to modify the wiring to work with the new 3 prong switches.
