This top burner valve switch mounts to a surface burner gas valve and closes the ignition circuit when you turn the knob to Lite. Replacing a worn switch restores dependable sparking and stops intermittent or nonstop clicking at the burners.

What's included: 1 top burner valve switch Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and shut off the gas supply before servicing
  • Pull off the burner knob and remove the control/manifold panel to access the valve switch
  • Transfer wires one at a time and align the switch correctly on the valve stem; avoid overtightening
  • Reassemble, restore power, test for spark with gas off, then relight and check for leaks

Jim, It's not likely the spark module 1430322. If that was the case, the igniter wouldn't be "clicking". Chances are when she cleaned the cooktop, she allowed water or the cleaner to spill under the knobs and fall on the igniter switches. This causes a direct short to ground and the igniter reacts by clicking. Once the water evaporates the clicking will stop. You can also remove the knobs and use a hair dryer to dry the area, or leave the unit without power for a few days, and carefully light the burners with a match or grille igniter. If the issue still remains, then you'll need to remove the switch console and check the ignition switches for damage.
