Joseph for Model Number LSW9700PQ2 I did not have a spanner nut wrench to remove & reinstall the spanner nut, so i tapped it carefully using the wide flat side of a chisel & a hammer against the small notch openings of the nut. It loosened & came off & went back on ok, without any damage to the nut. My question is, does it have to be torqued or tightened to a specific tightness. I put it on fairly tight, but if I put it on to tight, will it cause any damage to drive block, drive shaft, drive tube, tub seal, or any bearings ? Thank you.
Answer Hello Joseph, The nut should be as tight as you can get it with the spanner wrench and a rubber hammer. I seriously doubt you got it this tight. If anything, it may be too loose. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, June 27, 2012
