Matt for Model Number whirlpool I have a whirlpool washer. For a while now it has gone through periods of working and not. When working it will operate normally. When its not it goes through the normal cycles and fills and drains. Problem is that it won't agitate or spin when it's not working. Should I be looking at the lid switch shorting out intermittently or should I be looking at something else?
Answer Hello Matt. You can start with the lid switch and then see if it is bad. If it looks broke, or test bad, replace the lid switch. If not, then you may have a bad drive block, transmission, or timer on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
