Sue for Model Number KSB5WH4 This lid switch is located on top of the washer unit, under the control panel, not inside the cabinet, like most models. When I attempted to remove the old lid switch, the clip snapped and broke off. When I attempted to insert the new lid switch, that clip snapped and broke off, as well. I cannot find video-based instructions on how to do this more delicately! I have ordered another part, but really don't want to break this next one. Any help is appreciated.
Answer Hello Sue, There are no definitive directions for the replacement of the switch. Once you have figured out the parts' vulnerability, it becomes easier to be gentle with it during its' installation. The main thing to remember is to change the part out with the lid opened so the arm from the lid hinge isn't in the switch, causing it to bind during its' removal and re-installation. Read More...
