Cari, The more common indicators of a faulty lid switch WP8318084 on your style washer is, the machine will fill and wash, but won't drain and spin. In your case you also want to check and make sure the lid hinge on the left side, is not loose, or the plastic sleeve is not worn out or damaged. The left side hinge activates the lid switch lever, if it's loose or out of alignment it may not activate the switch properly.
